Quick Translation Tips

Today's speedy translation tip is simple and easy in theory, but not permanently that easy to do in exercise.

Once you have completed the second draft of your translation, try the following things. Read each and every sentence in separation without checking the foundation document and question yourself given below questions:

  • Does this sentence sound native in the target language?
  • Would I have written this if it weren't a translation?
  • If the reply is no, go back to the sketch board.

In the end, the objective of translation is to generate natural-sounding writings in the target language that do not sound similar to translations. We know that it's a supercilious objective, but it is likely to get there, particularly if you use this method and have sufficient time to think about it. That's just one more reason we don't appreciate hurry projects. It's all the time better to have more time to think about every single sentence, and we certainly think there's a straight connection between the time permitted and the value of the translations. What do you ponder, dear linguists? We would love to listen your views.
